In yoga, the concept of 'karma' is an important one. The idea that what we put into the community is what we get back is a guiding principle for the way we do business. Below is some of the work we do to support both our local and global communities.

Plant a Tree Project

Through a partnership with the Nature Conservancy, Bliss Flow yogis have planted 400 trees in Brazilian rain forests to date, helping offset the effects of forest degradation.

Mats for Kids Project

Bliss Flow Yoga donates gently used yoga mats to local school programs for disadvantaged youth. Teaching students yoga as a coping mechanism when facing adversity helps them relate to themselves and others in a more positive way, alleviates stress and increases resiliency.

Yoga for Parkinson’s Disease Classes

In partnership with the Wisconsin chapter of the APDA, we offer spring and fall sessions for families dealing with Parkinson’s disease. If you or someone you know would like to participate, please email us at

Horizon High School Karma Classes

In partnership with Horizon High School, we offer spring and fall yoga classes to high school students who are working to foster a safe, alcohol and drug-free learning community.

Food + Supply Drive and Dinner for Feeding the State Street Family

The Bliss Flow community donated immediately-needed supplies of toiletries, winter accessories, and non-perishable food to support Feeding the State Street Family. A grassroots nonprofit initiative, Feeding the State Street Family provides care and basic needs to the more than 400 homeless citizens of Madison. Headed by Tami Miller, the work that Tami and the State Street Family are doing is the true embodiment of seva--or selfless service--which is a cornerstone of yoga.

Bliss Flow staff and families volunteered to host a dinner this fall, serving hot meals to about 175 homeless people (including kids). Working directly with the community on this event is really what yoga is all about.
